Paste at least 2 decklists to compare.

MyDecklist’s free deck comparison tool lets you compare two or more Magic: The Gathering decklists side by side. Paste any number of builds — Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, or Commander — and instantly see which cards differ between them, what was cut or added, how sideboard slots changed, and which quantities are flex slots across builds.

  1. Paste your first decklist into Deck 1 — plain text, MTGO export, or Arena export all work.
  2. Paste your second decklist (or more) into the remaining panels. You can add up to 8 decks.
  3. Click Compare to see shared cards, cuts, additions, and flex slots.

Core vs Flex Slots Explained

The Core & Flex view splits every card into a core count (the minimum quantity present in every build) and a flex count (copies above that minimum). This helps you identify which cards every player agrees on versus which slots are open to personal preference or metagame targeting.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I compare two MTG decklists?

Paste each decklist into a separate text box and click Compare. The tool supports Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, and Commander lists in plain-text, MTGO, and MTG Arena export formats.

What formats does MyDecklist support?

The tool is format-agnostic — it parses any plain-text, MTGO export, or MTG Arena export decklist. Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, EDH/Commander, and more all work.

Can I compare more than two decklists at once?

Yes. Click 'Add Deck' to add up to 8 decklists simultaneously. The Summary, Core & Flex, and Matrix views all scale to N decks.

Does it support sideboard comparison?

Yes. Sideboard cards are tracked separately and shown in the Deck vs Deck and Matrix views. Sideboard-only cards appear in their own section in the Summary view.

What is the Matrix view?

The Matrix view displays a grid of every card versus every deck, so you can scan quantities across all builds at a glance. Cells are color-coded: green for cards present in all decks, amber for cards present in some, and blank for absent. Separate matrices are shown for the main deck and sideboard.

What is the Core & Flex view?

The Core & Flex view splits cards into 'core' copies (the minimum quantity shared by every deck) and 'flex' copies (quantities above that minimum, unique to individual builds).

What is the Deck vs Deck view?

The Deck vs Deck view shows a focused diff between any two decks you select. Cards are grouped into Added, Removed, and Unchanged sections, with per-card quantity deltas shown. When comparing more than two decks, use the dropdowns to pick which pair to examine.
